Aranyló levélfonákáról az angolszász világban "aranytölgynek" nevezik, magyarul rendszerint Égerlevelű tölgynek; egyik sem a legszerencsésebb, de talán hamarosan születik egy találóbb név e szép (kizárólag ciprusi) örökzöld tölgynek.
