Hiteles származású, kaliforniai magból nevelt Monterey-fenyőnk a Budakeszi Dendrológiai Tanösvény nyugat-amerikai bemutató területének egyik vezérfaja; az ez évi ‘áprilisi nyárban’ pollen-szóró tobozai a megszokottnál két-három héttel korábban jutottak érett (felnyíló) állapotba.
